Julie Taraska, Founder
Too many businesses struggle to explain themselves and the value they add. Content Needs Context, a strategy and content-creation company, works to change that. I position design, sustainability, and tech organizations; help them differentiate themselves; and develop the right messages and materials to reach their audience.
Why trust me? Well, it begins with the Clash.
Upon winning a fellowship to study British punk, I moved to London to begin my journalism career. Editorial jobs at Metropolis and Architectural Record followed, as did nearly two decades covering products, tech, and the design business for the New York Times, Wallpaper*, Architectural Digest, Quartz, and Fast Company. Then, upon seeing how companies were taking over the telling of stories, I segued into marketing, serving as a copywriter and founding editor at ecommerce pioneer Gilt Groupe and corporate communications writer for design firm Perkins&Will.
Content Needs Context was birthed from this blend of strategy, communication, and craft. My means are many, from audits, messaging, and competitor analysis to brand identity, multiplatform content, and account-based management. All are at your disposal to help you grow your business.
